About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with practice permits in both Quebec and Ontario, as well as a qualifying Psychotherapist in Quebec. With more than 15 years of professional experience, my career has taken me across diverse contexts — from hospitals, schools, community organizations, and public services to international humanitarian missions. I have had the privilege of working in Brazil and Canada, as well as in different regions of Central America and Africa. These experiences have given me a unique understanding of how cultural, social, and personal factors intersect, and how they can influence healing and growth.
My background in social work allows me to adopt a holistic perspective, taking into account the social, cultural, familial, and environmental factors that shape each person’s experiences. This comprehensive approach helps me identify resources, challenges, and opportunities unique to every client’s context. Meanwhile, psychotherapy equips me to explore the emotional, cognitive, and relational dimensions underlying their difficulties. By integrating these two areas of expertise, I provide support that is both practical and introspective, tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
I work with clients from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. My expertise lies in supporting individuals facing migration-related challenges, anxiety, life transitions, trauma — including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) — and the impacts of violence. I strongly believe in the transformative power of counseling to help individuals navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and cultivate emotional well-being.
